Miguel Ángel Andrade ASMA
/ Mike Dedraan 🇲🇽

Style:Figurative
Technique:Mixed

Born in Torreón, Coahuila, in November 1979, Miguel Ángel Andrade experienced a strong inclination towards art and visual communication from an early age, influenced by the work of his father, Professor Miguel Ángel Andrade, as well as that of his uncles Guillermo and José Roberto Andrade. Under the latter’s guidance, he deepened his understanding of form, color, and their theory, thus beginning his exploration of surrealism.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the Universidad Autónoma del Noreste (UANE) in 2001 and received his degree in 2003. Professors such as Agustín Castillo Fong, Octavio Badillo, and José Mireles were key in the development of his visual language.

Castillo Fong’s influence is particularly noteworthy in the consolidation of his style, as well as in his understanding of form, technique, and aesthetic appreciation. He began his professional career in 1999 as an editorial designer and digital illustrator for the newspaper La Opinión, part of Grupo Milenio, contributing to the Último Minuto supplement.

Simultaneously, he has worked as a freelancer with various agencies in the Comarca Lagunera region. In academia, he taught at UANE (Torreón Campus) and the Universidad Autónoma de La Laguna (UAL) between 2005 and 2012, instructing courses such as Design Theory, Graphic Composition, Color Theory, Illustration, Graphic Representation Techniques, Editorial Design, and Web Design.

He has participated in five group exhibitions, including one in Mexico City. Among his awards are an honorable mention from Radio Torreón 96.3 FM and second place in the Pinta tu música (Paint Your Music) competition in the Rock category.

His professional practice encompasses advertising, art, graphic design, corporate identity, photography, and web design. He is a prolific artist who integrates his artistic vision with graphic design principles. In the musical field, he is the founder of the metal band Aféresis (1999) and creator of his solo project Poeta (2013), where he develops composition,

lyrics and conceptual direction, both visual and photographic

José Antonio Martínez De la Cruz, better known as JAMDELAC, held his first solo exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura Tonacalli in Iztapalapa, Mexico City in 1999, an experience that encouraged him to continue on that path. Thanks to this and his curiosity, he later joined various artistic experimentation workshops – Graphic Design, Sculpture, and Painting – at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
